I was not expecting this outfit to come from DvF's latest collection, woop that layering is staying put, woop that leopard print (of some description) is going nowhere and go DvF for the Nomad collection, its cool, brave, young and stylish - she says 'at times like these all a girl wants is a little pizazz' - you betcha.

NEXT...Jonathan Saunders

The next target on my NY Fashion Week list is Jonathan Saunders, I first fell in love with his clothes when I saw Kelly Osbourne wearing a floor length gown of his on Porject Catwalk, I then saw the dress at a sample sale but alas still couldn't afford it. His theme this collection was birds and very colourful ones at that. He uses colour well generally but this collection is one of his more colourful yet. The above jacket really stands out for me, the pattern cutting involved to create the shoulder scallop makes the coat look extremely classy while the external zip retains an air of cool.


This dress is something I would love to wear but never would, the primary colours and houndstooth are a great combination while the simple accessorising with thick black tights will always be classy in my book.

The above jacket is luxe, almost sportswear so very dressed down for Saunders but the shoulders give it an edgy cape like appearance

This dress is reminiscent of Marc Jacobs Concrete Jungle print yet with the shape of a skater dress

Look at the shoulders, slightly Margiela? The longer dresses really are not my kind of thing, hence sticking to showing you all the shorter dresses.

The skater skirt and tight bodice look great, this look could be easily recreated with vintage and maybe the American Apparel skater dress, hmm. Need to give that a go.

Jonathan Saunders really emphasized the waist and legs with this collection, looks like we're going to have to get the pins in shape and a Mad Men waistline pronto.

Daisy Lowe for MJ

I, like the lovely Frankie of Swell Vintage, am also a bit obsessed with Daisy Lowe at the moment. So her Marc Jacobs Campaign pictures have gone down very well on this wintery morning. Originally posted on Catwalk Queen (sorry i keep biting your posts!) Of course the photos were done by Juergen Teller and it totally makes sense for Marc Jacobs to chose her as his new campaig girl as she has now decamped to NYC, has a less model more realistic figure and really shows off the clothes well.

There have been comments that this campaign is boring, but in my opinion she rocks the look, that underwear is screaming buy me, the red and white dress and (what seem to be) bloomers are ace. The only thing that looks kind of out of place are the sunnies.

I would love to know what you think but to me, its spot on advertising

Feathers will fly

Feathers are big this Winter so prepared to get poked in the neck by them when you are kissing your fashionable friends. So here is a post about feathers, I think I am in love...

The latest copy of Vogue has a feature called Diary of a dress, which focusses on Burberry Prorsom's feather dress which first headed down the runway on February 18 2008, during Burberry Prorsom's autumn/winter 08 show in Milan.

A bit like this...


You may have seen the dress in the Burberry ad campaign on Rosie Huntingdon Whiteley, who models in the campaign alongside the delectable Sam Riley. The feature is actually really interesting and notes how the dress is flown all around the globe, requested by the likes of Demi Moore, Kate Hudson, Mary J Blige, Gwyneth Paltrow and Agyness Deyn and repaired a few times in between.

In case you are interested the magazines who request it include, W, Dazed, Grazia, Tatler, French Vogue, Another Magazine, The Financial Times, US Glamour, L'Officiel, British Vogue, Italian Vogue and I think thats it. Yeah it seems like its only dry cleaned once too, hmmm. I personally love this feathered dress and here are a few more feather looks you might want to go for....

Sonia Rykiel's 40th Anniversary show

Rykiel's 40th anniversary dinner and show party has been described as "the most spontaneously exuberant and genuinely fun fashion event in recent history" by style.com, which makes me really jealous!

The show didnt start until 11pm but turned into a conga catwalk with a surprise for Ms Rykiel at the end being 30 outfits designed in the style of Rykiel but by designers such as Margiela, Rodarte (check the Obama jumper) and Gaultier's knitting needle creation....

Riccardo Tisci is certainly causing a stir with his collections for Givenchy. His latest collection at PFW was inspired by Western Bondage. Madonna is a fan, sure, it seems like the rest of Paris is following in her footsteps (or maybe she followed theirs??)

Style.com's Sarah Mower sees Tisci in the same class as his French counterparts Balmain and the unstoppable British duo Meadham Kirchhoff, see what you think....

Basso & Brooke - Turning Japanese

Style.com's Tim Blanks (him again!) describes Basso & Brooke as master printmakers, which is totally on the button, their brand new collection is inspired by Japan and the patterns certainly are a feast for the eyes!

Basso & Brooke is a label created by Christopher Brooke and Bruno Basso from Nottingham and Brazil respectively, the duo won the prestigious Fashion Fringe Award in 2004, rising to fame with 'flying phallous prints and flashy 80's nightclub aesthetic' according to fashionweekdaily.com Basso & Brooke describe their collections as “Playful, subversive, individual.”

The duo have a wallpaper collection coming out with Graham & Brown and are currently developing their first interior fragrance, busy boys indeed!

Emma Cook for Fred Perry

For those who haven't seen the new Fred Perry womenswear shop in Covent Garden, I implore you to check out the website so you can devour the Emma Cook collection.

Fred Perry is a staple for the mod / ska types out there and the female advertising campaign features 60's inspired girls with lashings of eye liner and severe brunette bobs - which I love!

Having experienced why not to wash a Fred Perry t-shirt (if any children out there want some FP polos send them to me) I have to say that for what you get, it can be a tad over-priced and this is pretty off putting.

However, the Emma Cook for Fred Perry has lured me back into the shop, above is a montage of the outfits - the dresses are definitely the best - i just love the over-sized crests. Ranging from 80-120 quid the dresses are something to save up for just don't put them in the wash!
