gap1969 concept store

2009 marks the 40th anniversary of Gap, to celebrate this milestone the khaki giants are launching the Gap1969 Concept Store in London's Carnaby Street stocking exclusive denim styles and designer / artist collaborations.

The store will be open for 19 days 69 hours (natch) with each line in stock being limited to 69 pairs. For one day only you will be able to purchase a limited edition pair of Gap (PRODUCT)RED rinsed jeans for £19.69 - half the profits from which will go to fight AIDs in Africa. Did that make sense, you know what I mean.

What I am most excited about is the fact that Pierre Hardy has designed a super limited edition version of his new season ankle boots - you know the ones - in indigo denim HRRRNK. Albertus Swanepoel has also designed a limited edition black felt riding hat with denim peak - that sounds a bit gross doesn't it? Hmm, we'll see.

The store will also stock Pharrell William's Bionic Gap Collection his capsule collection for the brand made out of bionic yarn from recycled plastic bottles. OK

Fashion bloggers London wide will be very excited to hear that Garance Dore will be showing her work in the space - a mixture of street shots and illustrations.

So get down there on 10th September if you want to snap up some special, super limited Gap gear
