2009 marks the 40th anniversary of Gap, to celebrate this milestone the khaki giants are launching the Gap1969 Concept Store in London's Carnaby Street stocking exclusive denim styles and designer / artist collaborations.
The store will be open for 19 days 69 hours (natch) with each line in stock being limited to 69 pairs. For one day only you will be able to purchase a limited edition pair of Gap (PRODUCT)RED rinsed jeans for £19.69 - half the profits from which will go to fight AIDs in Africa. Did that make sense, you know what I mean.
What I am most excited about is the fact that Pierre Hardy has designed a super limited edition version of his new season ankle boots - you know the ones - in indigo denim HRRRNK. Albertus Swanepoel has also designed a limited edition black felt riding hat with denim peak - that sounds a bit gross doesn't it? Hmm, we'll see.
The store will also stock Pharrell William's Bionic Gap Collection his capsule collection for the brand made out of bionic yarn from recycled plastic bottles. OK
Fashion bloggers London wide will be very excited to hear that Garance Dore will be showing her work in the space - a mixture of street shots and illustrations.
So get down there on 10th September if you want to snap up some special, super limited Gap gear

WAH Nails
Due to being an overworked mentalist over the last few weeks I had to miss the Diesel party at Dalston Superstore, where WAH Nails were giving free nail art makeovers. As I'm off to a fancy dress party tonight I thought I'd go along and get my nails did.
The original intention was to go some disgustingly massive gel nail extensions (disgusting in an amazing way, you understand). However WAH are still waiting for their licence to come through before they can offer nail extensions. Instead, I opted for a paint job in neon leopard print, which you can see below.
A steal for only £16, I'll definitely be going back for some gels, eek.
WAH Nails was set up by fashion stylist Sharma and you can find it at 420 Kingsland Road in Dalston, not just a nail bar, the shop also stocks Stussy, jewellery and other bits and bobs. Check out their blog here
Tomorrow the store will be hosting a Sunday Swap Shop so pop down, take anything you want to swap and pic up some vintage threads after getting your nails did, perfect Sunday much?
I will leave you with a picture of the Wah Nails Nike IDs, hawt

Hand washing : (
Hands up if you think handwashing is dull - hand washing your clothes I mean, rather than your actual hands, which, while it may be dull is pretty essential. I find it tiresome to say the least, and very often leave handwash items at the bottom of the washing basket hoping that the hand wash fairy will magic a clean version back into my wardrobe.
It seems like I'm leading to a 'well, be bored no more, because I have found a way to stop you having to do it once and for all' - but I haven't I'm afraid. Unless, my advice of 'hire someone to do it for you' counts. It struck me today that I don't really know what the benefit of handwashing is really, apart from potentially stopping your bra wire ending up looking like a soundwave.
I get that bras should be hand washed but really, who can be bothered? Not me, I shove the Rigby and Peller's in the wash (in your head imagine I said Agent Provocateurs).
But, did you know that Barbour / other manufacturers padded jackets have to be hand washed? Having recently returned from my parents house laden with bags of country wear - it's fashionable stuff, trust me - I have had to wise up to this pretty sharpish. Having squeezed my padded jacket out once and seen the brown water gurgling down the sink - gross but it has been outside - I came to thinking about how the hell I was supposed to get round to cleaning my new Wax jackets.
I've trawled the net to varying success (nil to the knee jerk 'send it to Barbour') but I just don't know how I get the mouldy bits looking less mouldy and the inside less like its been down a pit for 20 years. So, if you have any advice in regards to how I can clean up those old waxy bastards, will you let me know? Otherwise they will stay in a bag in my living room forever more.

Show you what I got in my sweater baby...
I saw Amanda Blank last night at Hoxton Bar & Grill, she was great and looked killah strutting onstage with a hooded cape and very small catsuit on.
A rapper and singer, Amanda has rapped on Aaron LaCrate's album, the Major Lazer album and is bezzies with Santigold so pretty cool right? Check out her video below, lets hope she gets huge.
MySpace sayz...
Many are familiar with Amanda as the fiery vixen appearing alongside crowd and critical darlings Spankrock, and as part of the Philly-based pop group Sweatheart. Enlisting the help of uber-produers Diplo, Switch and XXXChange, Amanda Blank has made a record that is light years ahead of what anyone could’ve expected based on her guest appearances thus far. Balancing a razor-sharp wit & vocal dexterity with an unmatched stage presence, this is a woman to watch. Other featured guests on the record include Spank Rock, Santigold, Lykke Li and the Cool Kids.

Neurotica for Topshop
London label Neurotica have designed a capsule collection for Topshop, due to hit stores this week. Victoria McGrane grew up in Lancashire before moving to Sydney where she studied Visual Arts before assisting fashion designers Michelle Lowe Holder and Siv Stoldal. She launched her Neurotica in 2006 with a strong pint influence, her label aesthetic is 'dressed up dressed down' creating clothes for girls who are 'a bit dark and weird but unashamadely cute'.
In 2008, Victoria appeared on BBC 2's Dragon's Den in which she pitched her business to the dragons and recieved 75,000 from Peter Jones in return for a 35% share in her business.
What do you think? I love the bodysuit but the whole collection does remind me of Eley Kishimoto's cobweb collection

Temperley online store launches
At the brand new site, you can get your hands on the Temperley pre-fall 09. The first hundred purchasers also receive a limited edition tote bag in Temperley London's leopard print.
On the site you can find styling tips and interviews with Alice about her favourite things to see and do alongside exclusive product offerings.
They also have footage from behind the scenes, which I always finding fascinating (being quite a fashion geek and all)
Oh Karl...you little tinker!

Gross or amazing?
My bf says gross but I say amazing:
New in at Topshop - to be fair they do look a bit cheap
The Topshop cage skirt - Susie Bubble's campaign for the cage skirt has spread as far as Toppers, brilliant! I wouldn't wear it though.
Pixie Market - bleach jersey drop crotch pants
Gold by Giles studded bag...this will be mine!
eBay purchase of love
You may remember that I have a slightly weird obsession with Moschino...well, on Sunday night it came to a head and I bought this Moschino vest from eBay.
I LITERALLY cannot wait to get it in the post, it's coming from Australia so I have a long old wait yet. Next stop? Black toe less shoes like this lady is wearing, now, will I look as amazing as her in it? Doubtful, I'll give it a go thought.

It's business time...
Since Jane Shepherdson left Topshop and took the helm at Whistles the shop has completely turned around, now stocking fashion forward clothes for the distinguished female. According to traditional status on the High Street, Whistles caters for the 30+ woman, however, I have become a bit obsessed with their rock and roll shift dress above.
What do you think? Can someone who is 25 rock something that is apparently for those a lttle older? I reckon...

Lindsay Lohan in Elle
The lovely Katie Mulloy wrote the Lindsay Lohan feature in this month's Elle and it's truly brilliant. After being stood up three times by Lohan, Katie decided to diarise her experience with the Hollywood IT girl and boy did she do it well.
Buy the magazine, its well worth it. Well done Mulloy, we love you!
Florence and the Machine - Drumming Song
The video for Florence's new track 'Drumming Song' is bur-illiant, you heard it here first. Ok, so that's technically a lie as Dazed Digital did a rather splendid interview with Hannah Marshall and Aldene Johnson who designed the garb and styled respectively for the vid.
I love a choreographed dance routine so this is ticking all of my boxes.
Here is a quote from Aldene about the styling behind the video:
Aldene Johnson: The brief was good versus evil, which is always a lot fun. The words disco gargoyle were bandied around a lot too! My job has always been developing Florence's style so I took what she had already and showed her how much further she could take it with some killer Raphael Young and Charlotte Olympia heels, a great Hannah Marshall dress or seven and some Dominic Jones claws.
Can you style me please Aldene!?
The mask is Manish Arora. I always wanted to be a Top of the Pops dancer so I could get down to choroegraphed shiz, maybe I'll just settle for being Florence instead?

The Uniform Project
If you read about this in The Guardian this morning then apologies, I felt compelled to blog about it due to the fact its such a great idea and it's also raising money for a deserved cause.
One lady has vowed to wear the same dress (she has several identical versions) for a whole year as 'an exercise in sustainable fashion'. Each day she will accesorise the dress with layers, hosiery, jewellery and accessories to make it as different from the previous days outfits as possible. This is a fundraising project for the Akanksha Foundation, which funds uniform and educational expenses for slum kids in India.
The dress itself is designed by Eliza Starbuck to be worn all year round - it can be worn both ways (front and back) and can be worn open like a cardigan, accessories are bought from eBay and Etsy but you can also donate accessories, which is a great idea.
You can see the daily looks here so far the uniform project has raised over $7,000, lets help her raise more
