NLYM for RWD
I have written a fashion column for the brand new issue of RWD magazine, which should have hit the shops now. RWD is a brilliant magazine edited by Hattie C (whose blog you can find on the links section) and the fashion editor is the one and only wonderman of Shoreditch, known for his amazing threads, Richard Shoyemi.
RWD is the ultimate in youth publications, long may it reign
Here is the text as you wont be able to read it above:
There is doom and gloom on the news, money is tight and the weather's pretty gross - no one can save us now but fashion. Kanye was spotted in Paris recently with his crew of pattern adorned, neon bright fashionista friends and the recent Marc Jacobs show ushered in a whole new collection of acid bright clothes. Note to self, don't go wearing black, it's so not cool. Take your pick from the following high street trends hitting shops near you:
50's floral
Brand new UK singer VV Brown and hit TV show Mad Men have sparked the trend for 50's fashion nostalgia. Pick up your vintage style floral from Asos.com, their spring summer collection is full of structured tops and great voluminous 50’s skirts.
Denim leggings
Want your skinnies as skin tight as possible? Then Urban Outfitters have just the thing for you, their denim look leggings are flying off the shelves, wear with an oversized vest and dunks or peep toe heels for that totally on trend eighties look.
Hair bows
A look seen at the Topshop Unique show and, therefore, sure to explode on the high street soon. We're not talking Gossip Girl-esque head bands adorned with bows here, oh no, channel Winehouse and tie a headscarf into a bow to create the perfect hair accessory for Spring/Summer.
Double Denim
Yep, you read correctly, double denim is going to be a big hit this year, whether you are wearing denim jacket and jeans combo, denim bikini tops with cut off shorts or a denim jumpsuit. It may sound like the worst idea on paper but Topshop have pulled it off in their Unique collection – boys this is for you too. Pastel colour jeans are making a huge comeback, you can get great versions in H&M – again, boys be brave, don’t leave all of the fashion fun to the ladies.

MTV Staying Alive lip butter
I get a few emails from people who think I might be interested in their fashion news, sample sale offers and the like, some I politely turn down but others catch my eye.
One of those is the ‘Staying Alive’ foundation - a global HIV and AIDS awareness organisation established by MTV that funds youth-focused safe sex campaigns across the world.
They have teamed up with The Body Shop to create a lip butter, from which a percentage of the price go to The Staying Alive Foundation. You can buy the lip butter for £5.00 and £3.98 goes to the Staying Alive Foundation, to be precise.
The money will then be spent on HIV/Aids awareness projects in the UK.
Apparently the lip butter is inspired by dragon fruit, this doesnt mean its spikey rather that it is pretty exotic.
I just love the packaging
Broken Hearts for Beyond The Valley
The very stylish dj duo, Broken Hearts, have hooked up with hip label Beyond The Valley to create and launch their debut clothing collection.
The fashionista duo put together the stylish outfits - a limited edition women’s wear collection The Aztec Carnival - for the BTV autumn/winter 2009/10 range.
Their collection draws up on costumes from the golden age of the circus sideshow, inspired by Tod Browning’s 1932 film Freaks. Amber and Nisha, who were named in the Observer Cool List and were ranked in Elle magazine's Hot 20.
I reallty want the reversable cape, uh oh

I got snapped by Catwalk Queen
You can see if properly here.
I look exhausted and my face looks a bit stretchy mainly because I was quite tired.
Note to self, must learn how to pose...

Alexa in New Look
Alexa Chung has been throwing together the new New Look spring / summer collection in the way only she can. Yep she looks amazing. Yep I totally love her style and yes, I would like her legs please.
In other news, the clothes include a fantatic green hand bag and a great denim shirt dress, form an orderly queue.

This weekend...
Take me to the river...
Who died and made River Island cool again? Its happened, River Island is actually selling clothes you want to buy PLUS
they have a snazzy new website. Key things to look out for include cropped shirts, great skirts, MJ rip off dresses and studded sandals.
River Island is usually one of those shops I tend to avoid when High Street shopping, however, I have seen lots of great pieces in the weekend's supplements and have been really impressed with its new direction,.
There is a brand new flagship store on Oxford Street - must avoid until pay day!
Inspired
I picked up Sunday TImes Style today and got really excited about the cover, which features a 'Mad Men' styled woman dressed in underwear and a pair of Ray Bans.
My boyfriend and I have recently watched the whole of Mad Men's series one, which is just fantastic and the clothes are simply to die for. Hence being instantly drawn to the 50's style underwear on the cover of the magazine. I have what you would call an hour glass figure and think the vintage underwear could look really good.
All of the underwear from the shoot is from London based shop What Katie Did, based on London's Portobello Road. The underwear is reasonably priced from what I can gather and looks exquisite. I'm planning to check it out as soon as I get paid, fingers crossed they create bras for small backs and big cup sizes.
Style topped off the outfit with these Ray Bans clubmasters in Shell - they are on the wishlist too!
Mad Men has a lot to answer for, I love it.

Adi - Bad Ass
I love the brand new Adidas advert, it looks like the best party you could ever go to, the brilliant director Nima who I have written about quite a lot here directed it.
Quite interested to see the below video of the Ting Tings getting covered in paint at an Adidas warehouse party too - now, I dont think I would be massively keen on getting paint all over me but it does look like poster paint so maybe not so bad.

Get on yer horse
Pop Sugar posted a very informative blog about one of Effy from Skins' recent outfits, she was wearing a super on trend aerosol paint style horse t shirt from All Saints. I popped into All Saints in Spitalifields to check it out, I'm not normally a fan of the brand but the top really caught my eye. Unfortunately, it just wasn't all that flattering on me so I'll be looking elsewhere for my faux Margiela.
You may notice that the below t shirt is pretty similar, similar but not quite the same as it is actual Margiela and costs $1,395 so on reflection the £65 All Saints tee is pretty good value.
However, the LA Times recently noted that Margiela's shirt is pretty much ripped off from British artist David Penfound's 'Summoning The Storm'.
If you are looking for a cheaper version then I would suggest heading onto eBay where you can get the below for a tenner.

Make It Sell It
I recieved an email from the creator of a brand new UK equivalent of Etsy entitled MISI - Make It Sell It. On MISI you can set up your own store and then in an eBay style will be charged 20p per listing but unlike Ebay, the charges are 20p per listing despite the size or type of item you are selling, however you will be charged 3% of your item's price when you do make a sale. You can also keep things listed for five months.
So I thought I'd check it out and find some of my favourite items on the site:
Bijouxboutique sells some great wrist warmers - a bit out of season now
Bag of fun has a couple of great vintages handbags up at the moment
I do like these teacup candles from ClaraBows too
Sherla Design Vintage is selling this ace bracelet on MIHI for a mere £7
It's not half as comprehensive as Etsy just yet but surely a UK Sterling version is a great idea? I'm not sure how many other UK versions like this are out there but I think MISI could really take off
